The success of a crowdfunding project has nothing to do with its format, whether it's narrative or documentary, short or long-form, audio or film, or comedy or drama. The success of a crowdfunding project has everything to do with the creators' ability to connect with their audience, harness their team, and execute on their outreach plan.
There is no "crowdfunding audience." Each project that crowdfunds (on Seed&Spark and beyond) has its own unique audience for their particular project, so don't worry about what has worked before. Don't force yourself in a box because of emotionless data you've seen based on other campaigns; make your project that's authentic to you and your experience, and focus on getting people excited to see it. Once you've done that, the fundraising portion of crowdfunding is easy peasy.
